Character Sheet for Old School RPGs
A downloadable project
This B/X compatible character sheet presents a "paper doll" inventory system familiar from old school computer roleplaying games, built around a variation of DaVinci's Vitruvian Man. It's perfect for displaying a character's equipment and grounding the character to the world, by pinpointing where items are stored. 1-in-6 skills as represesented as dice pips, and there is room to write down new skills.
This character sheet is an evolving product. Alternate versions are in the works, including a sheet with space for more spells, property or trade items etc.
Ideally, the character sheet is used in conjunction with slot-based inventory mechanics. An example of a slot-based encumbrance system follows: Use the STR ability score to determine the maximum number of inventory slots the character can carry. A character may also carry an additional number of items equal to their CON ability score, but doing so they are considered encumbered.
